At Rosenberg Mitsubishi, we don't want you stranded on the side of the road in Rosenberg, TX because of a flat tire. While many drivers choose to have a flat tire changed by a service technician, there may come a time when you have to change a flat on your own.

When you get a flat, it's important to have certain items nearby. Be sure that you have a flashlight, spare tire, tire tools, car jack, lug wrench, wheel chocks, and emergency warning devices. Find a safe place to change your flat, and always be sure that you have the emergency brake in place before you begin.

Check your owner's manual if you don't know where to find the car jack, spare tire, and tools. Loosen the lug nuts before you crank up your vehicle, but don't completely remove them yet. Jack your vehicle up at least six inches, and avoid putting the jack under the axle. Once your vehicle is lifted, you can remove the lug nuts and wheel. After you remove the damaged tire, then you can place the spare on and lower your vehicle.
